Key Responsibilities:

As a Project Engineer, your daily tasks will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Achieving safety objectives for assigned projects while identifying and promoting safe work practices.
  • Overseeing project engineering responsibilities, including the review and coordination of shop drawings and submittals, material procurement, sequencing, and addressing layout discrepancies.
  • Assisting in concrete and civil estimating, which includes quantity takeoffs, cost estimation, proposal formulation, and subcontractor scope management.
  • Contributing to project planning by developing civil and concrete methodologies, schedules, and coordinating with subcontractors.
  • Supporting project superintendents and craft foremen in executing project plans and managing daily operations.
  • Collaborating with Project and Assistant Project Managers on subcontractor/vendor agreements and scope execution.
  • Estimating additional work, documenting changes, and ensuring accurate tracking of contract modifications.
  • Managing and maintaining project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, safety records, drawing logs, material logs, and time/material tickets.
  • Working with the project team to create project schedules and look-ahead plans.
  • Implementing and ensuring compliance with Civil and Concrete Strategic Planning initiatives.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the construction industry, with relevant internships considered.
  • Alternatively, a combination of education, training, and experience that aligns with the role's requirements.

  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A collaborative mindset focused on team-based planning and problem-solving.

Work Environment: The majority of work occurs on construction sites and in office trailers, where daily construction activities are monitored. This role may involve exposure to loud noises and requires the use of protective equipment. Physical demands include the ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, and lift materials as necessary.
