Overview of Responsibilities

This is a temporary role with no leave or retirement benefits associated. Employees working an average of 30 or more hours weekly may qualify for health insurance under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP).

Position Summary

This temporary role is based in Raleigh - Wake County.

Hourly Rate of Pay: $32.00 (Determined by education and relevant work experience).

The primary objective of this position is to support the development and implementation of the NC DHHS Certified Peer Support Program. The individual will provide expertise in peer support, mental health, and substance use disorder services. Collaboration with DMHDDSUS leadership will be essential to realize the strategic vision for the North Carolina Certified Peer Support Program. Responsibilities include assisting in the formulation of program standards and performance metrics, as well as serving as a liaison with various stakeholders, including state agencies, service providers, and advocacy groups.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualified applicants must clearly demonstrate their relevant training and experience in their application.
  • Understanding of the needs of the target population.
  • Familiarity with program objectives, standards, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of agency structures and service delivery mechanisms.
  • Capability to engage in program planning, evaluation, and quality assurance.
  • Ability to apply technology effectively within the program context.

  • Competence in coordinating and directing complex statewide initiatives.
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant rules and regulations.
  • Research and analytical skills to interpret laws and develop related policies.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs.

  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with various stakeholders.


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

To qualify, candidates must possess either:

- A Master's degree in a relevant discipline and two years of related experience; or
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and four years of related experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
