Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diagnostic Radiology Technologist Supervisor to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and performing the Diagnostic Section of the Radiology Service, including the radiographic modalities of general diagnostic, fluoroscopic, bone density, mammography, and MRI modalities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform the Diagnostic Section of the Radiology Service, including the radiographic modalities of general diagnostic, fluoroscopic, bone density, mammography, and MRI modalities.
  • Supervise and oversee the work of subordinate staff technologists, including GS-647-5, 6, 7, and 8 general diagnostic staff technologists, GS-647-9 mammography/DEXA staff technologists, GS-10 Magnetic Resonance Imaging Supervisor, and GS-647-9 Clinical Coordinator for the affiliated student technologist programs.
  • Assist the Chief Technologist in formulating and implementing administrative and operational policies and procedures for the Imaging Service in general and specifically for their areas of responsibility in the Diagnostic section.
  • Perform complex system administrator functions, including oversight of RIS links, individual and user group creation, and access management, system filters, exam code dictionaries, DICOM configuration testing, hanging protocols, voice file exchange, and other duties associated with this position.
  • Ensure compliance with all national and VA information and security requirements, including archiving of images to VistA imaging.
Requirements
  • Citizen of the United States.
  • Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R).
  • Advanced ARRT certification is required for assignments that include computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or Mammography (M) duties performed independently.
  • Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in duration (or the equivalent) in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, evidenced by a certificate or an associate degree, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or from other accrediting agencies as recognized by the Department of Education (DOE).
  • 5 years experience in General Radiology and experience with at least one special modality preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supervising in Radiology highly preferred.
