LPN Maternal Child Health Specialist

Cayuga Health System is seeking a skilled LPN to join our Maternal Child Health team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care to patients within the Maternal Child Health department.

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients and families from diverse backgrounds. You will work collaboratively with our team to implement and evaluate patient care plans, prioritizing the physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense medication within scope of practice and accurately document in patients' electronic medical records.
  • Plan for patient care, demonstrating the ability to effectively prioritize both expected and unanticipated needs.
  • Involves patients and families in establishing care goals and obtaining data related to patient care.
  • Reports abnormal findings or changes in mental and emotional conditions of the patient to the Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Responds promptly to call bells and patient needs.
  • Knows how to appropriately perform and document a hearing screen.
  • Appropriately sets up, cleans, and stocks after a delivery and C-section.

Requirements:

  • Current NYS LPN license.
  • Ability to work full-time with weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Maternal Child Health.
  • Ability to obtain BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications within 6 months of hire.

Physical Requirements:

  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., use of the computer keyboard).
  • Light lifting in regards to patient care.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time as it pertains to patient care.

Location and Travel Requirements:

  • Onsite.

Pay Range Disclosure:

  • $24.00 to $34.00 per hour.
