Job Summary:

Cayuga Health System is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that invoices are paid in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner according to established medical center policies and accounting procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively use hospital systems (Meditech, GHX, Commerce Bank) for invoice processing and third-party payments.
  • Process invoices for Cayuga Health System (CMC & Schuyler), maintaining the GHX queue and resolving quantity and cost discrepancies with Materials Management.
  • Train new directors or designees on the GHX OnDemand System and ensure smooth check runs, including EFTs and Commerce payments.
  • Investigate and resolve past due accounts, communicate with vendors, and manage open credits within 12 months.
  • Prepare and report IRS 1099, NYS Unclaimed Funds, and recover unclaimed funds due to Cayuga Medical Center.
  • File quarterly for NYS Sales Tax recovery and manage transactions in the Commerce Active Funds system.
  • Assist with monthly closings, maintain confidentiality, and work collaboratively with the team and management.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associates degree in accounting/business-related field
  • Minimum of one year of employment experience in an accounting/business environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Outlook and Excel

Physical Requirements:

Physical Requirements - 90% sitting 10% standing

Location and Travel Requirements:

Onsite at CMC Finance House

Pay Range Disclosure:

$20.00 to $25.00 per hour
