Position Summary:

The Senior Quality Manager is responsible for strategizing, organizing, and executing the MasTec Industrial Quality Program throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This role may involve leading quality management efforts on large, complex projects and overseeing other quality managers, as well as managing multiple projects simultaneously. The Senior Quality Manager is expected to exhibit the capabilities of a Quality Manager with progressively increasing levels of responsibility and authority.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Engage in constructability assessments and task planning.
  • Effectively manage and prioritize multiple competing assignments while adhering to deadlines.
  • Evaluate feedback from supervisors and colleagues regarding quality and work practices, and implement actionable plans based on that feedback.
  • Deliver high-quality work that aligns with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Embody the culture and values of MasTec Industrial by setting high ethical standards and acting as a team player to foster effective communication across the organization.
  • Represent MasTec Industrial professionally in all client interactions.
  • Provide clients with required contractual reports.
  • Implement and adhere to MasTec Industrial's Corporate Quality Manual, leading the development of site-specific quality plans.
  • Identify requirements for Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Facilitate or lead quality training sessions and onboarding processes.
  • Assist craft superintendents with site-specific quality materials.
  • Support and lead various quality initiatives, including audits and quality leadership meetings.
  • Compile and submit quality metrics on a weekly basis.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss project updates and quality issues.
  • Report nonconformities and participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Ensure subcontractor kickoff meetings address quality requirements and inspection activities.
  • Track the timely resolution of non-conformances and observations.
  • Promote stop work authority for quality-related concerns.
  • Act as a key project leader.
  • Conduct meetings with professionalism, both internally and externally.
  • Provide on-the-job training to quality managers and inspectors.
  • Oversee the implementation of employee training programs.
  • Manage direct reports, including Site Quality Managers and Quality Inspectors.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the recruitment and staffing of site quality personnel.
  • Mentor site personnel to promote career growth.
  • Foster a culture of quality and retention within the teams.
  • Collaborate with other leaders to achieve continuous improvement goals.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • A minimum of ten years of quality experience in construction or operations, with exposure to various disciplines including civil, electrical, mechanical, and welding.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant codes and regulations.
  • AWS CWI certification is required; alternative certifications may be considered.
  • Proven experience leading large projects in an industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.

Hours:

This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of 50 hours per week, subject to project requirements.
