Job Title: Psychiatric Technician I

At Northern Light Health, we are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and communities. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Technician I to join our team.

About the Role:

The Psychiatric Technician I will work closely with our multidisciplinary treatment team to provide therapeutic care to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual disorders. This role requires a strong understanding of patient care quality and service, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with others to ensure seamless care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being, reporting changes in behavior or physical ailments to professional staff.
  • Respond to patient needs, taking into consideration developmental stage and psychiatric symptoms.
  • Maintain a safe environment, complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures, and reporting environmental hazards and patient safety policy violations.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the team.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a hospital setting, with potential exposure to abusive and/or aggressive individuals. The Psychiatric Technician I will also work with computers, typing, reading, and writing, and may be required to lift, move, and load less than 20 pounds.
