Job Summary

The Psychiatric Technician provides therapeutic care for individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual disorders. This role functions within a multidisciplinary treatment team under the supervision of professional staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being, reporting changes in behavior or physical ailments to professional staff.
  • Respond to patient needs, taking into consideration developmental stage and psychiatric symptoms.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries in all patient interactions.
  • Function within the patient care team, focusing on successful treatment and stabilization.
  • Maintain a safe environment, complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and lifting less than 20 pounds.
  • Potential exposure to abusive and/or aggressive people.
