Job Summary

As a Procurement Intern, you will provide critical support to our Procurement team. Your responsibilities may include creating and issuing requests for proposals, researching and analyzing spend with vendors, working with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, and data entry. Your role will be to assist the team in executing procurement processes that keep POET running, including order tracking, spend analysis, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the new supplier qualification process
  • Manage inventory systems
  • Confirm receipt of requests for proposals and bid packages
  • Support purchase requests for goods and services
  • Store proposals in our document management system and create bid packages
  • Assemble information and create vendor profiles
  • Contact suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
  • Research new vendors
  • Analyze spend to identify opportunities for cost savings
  • Assist with vendor relationship management
  • Provide timely status updates on projects and tasks
  • Visit a biorefinery to understand stakeholder needs
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; junior or senior level status in an accredited program, preferably in Business, Economics, or Engineering
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism, and customer service
  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, decision-making, and problem-solving
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Honest, ethical, and able to work in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn new programs
