Job Title: Buyer

At Silencer Central, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our procurement team. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment to meet the company's operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing and Purchasing: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts and pricing, and purchase materials, supplies, and equipment in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock is available while minimizing excess inventory. Implement inventory control procedures and conduct regular cycle counts.
  • Vendor Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality products, timely delivery, and favorable terms. Address and resolve any supplier issues or discrepancies.
  • Cost Management: Analyze and manage costs to achieve budgetary goals. Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or service.
  • Order Processing: Generate and manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure accurate and timely receipt of goods. Verify and reconcile invoices with purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new products or technologies. Provide recommendations to improve procurement strategies and processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective vendor relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software or ERP systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently to achieve goals and targets.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, departmental, and corporate goals.
  • Critical thinking ability - using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to monitor and assess performance of self, team members and the operation to make improvements or take corrective action.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 DOE.
