Procurement Specialist

In this role, you will be a key contributor to the Procurement Team at Glanbia plc, a global nutrition company. You will gain valuable experience supporting our manufacturing facilities in various areas, including managing and planning procurement activities for direct materials, site support, site requirement sourcing, and managing day-to-day supplier relationships. You will also have the opportunity to own a key project relating to a relevant business problem and present your insights and recommendations to leadership. Throughout the summer, you will participate in several development workshops and build connections with your peers and our business leaders through social and networking events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership of a project to interact with Procurement and Production teams, demonstrating analytical abilities and critical thinking skills while helping to solve real-life business problems.
- Knowledge and experience with procurement practices and policies, savings initiatives, and production plans through your daily tasks and projects.
- Strong collaboration within the site procurement, site leadership and production teams, cross-functional department teams, and vendors.
- Active participation in Pure Ambition program activities.
Requirements:
- Current undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field.
- Clear written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter and highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
