Lead Construction Manager

At our Atlanta, GA office, we focus on two main areas: Dispute Resolution and Project Advisory Services. This specialization is complemented by our connections with other SOCOTEC divisions that operate across all construction sectors. Through these partnerships, we collaborate with over 400 technical specialists, positioning ourselves as a reliable advisor. We are committed to providing detailed, independent, and persuasive project evaluations that our clients depend on to mitigate risks and resolve disputes fairly.
Role OverviewThe Senior Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing project assignments from the initial stages through to the delivery of outputs, including presentations and reports. The ideal candidate will strive to achieve a high level of expertise and industry recognition, aiming to provide expert testimony within a 3 to 5-year period. Key responsibilities include:
- Organizing extensive construction-related documentation
- Reviewing contracts, subcontracts, and other contractual documents
- Assessing baseline schedules and underlying assumptions
- Evaluating estimates and cost reports
- Conducting on-site evaluations of construction progress
- Preparing project status presentations and update reports
- Analyzing contemporaneous schedule updates and revisions
- Managing change orders and pay applications
- Conducting as-built schedule analyses
- Comparing as-planned versus as-built schedules
- Performing causation analyses
- Quantifying damages
- Providing mediation and litigation support as necessary
- Preparing presentation materials and demonstratives for expert opinions
- Drafting expert opinions
Qualified candidates should possess 3 to 5 years of experience in the construction industry along with strong written communication skills. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
- P6, MS Project, Excel, and other graphical communication tools
- Project scheduling and controls
- Budgeting
- Job cost reporting
- Construction processes and techniques
- Contract and risk management
- Data management
- Schedule and productivity reporting
- Estimating
- Possession of a valid work permit if applicable
- B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience
- Candidates with forensic accounting skills or architectural backgrounds may also be considered
- Ability to work independently
- A strong desire to develop expertise in scheduling and damages analysis, with the goal of achieving expert witness recognition within 3 to 5 years
