Job Title: Inspector

WGA Consulting Engineers is a Texas-based professional consulting firm that provides high-quality services to its clients. We are seeking a skilled Inspector to join our team in our Austin office.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage construction projects on a daily basis, ensuring timely completion and quality of work.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources effectively.
  • Perform daily inspections of materials and workmanship, identifying and reporting deficiencies to the Contractor and Construction Services Manager.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed daily reports, documenting all work performed.
  • Attend construction meetings to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Manage resident inquiries and issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Communicate project progress to project engineers, project managers, and Construction Services Manager through oral and written reports.
  • Identify and present potential project-related complications to project engineers, project managers, and Construction Services Manager.
  • Read and understand specifications, plans, shop files, and submittals.
  • Familiarize yourself with plans and specifications, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Understand survey benchmarks, elevations, and construction staking.
  • Operate a level and have knowledge of cut and fills, elevations, and grades.
  • Scale and measure distances, compute quantities, and costs as requested.
  • Generate documents on a Company-provided tablet.
  • Handle, manage, create, and modify PDF documents proficiently.
  • Interpret and implement company-mandated safety policies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Qualifications:
  • 1-4 years of progressive experience.
  • Land/Site Development experience highly preferred.
