Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at D-H Lebanon-MHMH. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide critical support to patients experiencing mental health crises in our Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Continuous Care and Supervision: Assist patients with activities of daily living, obtain vital signs, and perform point-of-care procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment: Keep hallways clear of excess equipment, empty linen bags, and assist with cleaning tasks.
  • Support Multidisciplinary Team: Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to establish patient goals and restrictions.
  • Manage Aggressive Patients: Assist in de-escalating situations and providing one-on-one support to patients in need.
  • Monitor and Care for High-Risk Patients: Assist with the management of patients who require close observation, including those at risk of suicide or elopement.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in mental health or human services preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in healthcare or mental health preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, and completion of required Workplace Violence Prevention Training within 6 months of hire.
