Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Associate Director of Systems Engineering to lead our Systems Engineering Directorate in defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE) for our SPY-6 DDG Flt III ship class.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall execution of the ship class across all disciplines
  • Drive priorities within the ship class and coordinate the integrated effort
  • Have cost accountability for the ship class, aligning product EACs with SOW paragraph funding and contract values
  • Help with technical and programmatic coordination across the engineering teams, CE, PMO, and the customer for the ship class
  • Coordinate closely with the Program Manager(s) regarding budget and schedule
  • Work with Government counterparts to understand status, schedules, priorities, and objectives for events
  • Help manage suppliers for the ship class, working alongside the supply chain function
  • Manage staffing for the IPT, working with different disciplines
  • Coordinate, write, and deliver technical briefs to both internal and external customers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: A Master's Degree can account for 2 years of experience as required for this position. A Ph.D. can account for 5 years of experience as required for this position.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in related Systems Engineering or Multi-Disciplined Engineering
  • Experience effectively leading multidisciplinary teams of engineering professionals
  • Experience leading teams and IPTs, using tools and metrics in managing activities, and interfacing with senior program and functional management
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to travel to support the program needs as necessary
  • Self-starter – proactive in determining goals and objectives and pursuing the necessary course of action
  • Experience as Team Lead, or CAM on previous programs
  • Experience in preparing customer and/or management level briefings
  • Excellent communication skills with prior experience presenting to customers and senior leadership
  • Experience in schedule development, action item management, requirement change management, and overall development and progress metrics
  • Working knowledge of the Raytheon Technologies' products and services
  • Experience working with external stakeholders; Suppliers, USG, or other partners
  • EVMS Certified (or equivalent)
  • Proposal support experience including writing Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
  • Knowledge navigating the organization and working with stakeholders across the company to develop solutions to key program challenges
