Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Overnight Cook to join our culinary team at Rancho Valencia Resort. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and serving food items for our guests and employees during the overnight hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve food items for guests and employees during the overnight hours
  • Complete nightly prep work and prepare for breakfast shift
  • Maintain established quality standards
  • Know assigned menus and be able to communicate with vendors, guests, and staff
  • Be self-motivated, dependable, reliable, and willing to work overnight as the lone culinary person on the 3rd shift
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of cooking experience in fine dining or 2-3 years of cooking experience in international and regional cooking in a fine dining establishment
  • Ability to communicate in English with vendors, guests, and staff
  • Current and up-to-date San Diego County food handlers card
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including 3rd shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for 8 consecutive hours
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of prior Overnight Cook experience
  • Prior work experience in a 5-star/5-diamond hotel
  • Stable work history
Physical Demands
  • Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing
  • Constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity
  • Occasional need to stand for long periods of time
Salary

$22.00 to $24.00 per hour based on work experience and skill set
