We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment to produce high-quality images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
Key Responsibilities- Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
- Collaborate with clinicians to ensure appropriateness of studies and maintain required documentation.
- Perform thorough screening of patients prior to procedure, ensuring no metal objects accompany the patient into the procedure room.
- Prepare patients for exams by placing and positioning them on the exam table within the gantry.
- Enter patient history data and other pertinent information obtained from a requisition completed by the Radiologist.
- Perform MRI procedures, including abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, extremities, sub-periosteal implant planning, radiation therapy treatment planning, biopsies, etc.
- Recognize and promptly report patients' motor abnormalities, including fainting, discoloration, contrast reactions, etc., to the Radiologist.
- Perform minor repairs and frequent calibration checks and adjust equipment as necessary.
- Vocational or Technical school Diploma required.
- Current License to practice as a Radiologist in New York State required, and Current ARRT Radiology registration required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
- 1-3 years of technical experience required.
