Job Summary:

As an MRI Technologist-PD at Catholic Health Service, you will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance (MR) equipment to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. You will perform MRI procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures. Your duties will include operating MR scanner and peripheral equipment, preparing scan room, supplies, and medications, and preparing and entering written documentation as required by the department.

Key Responsibilities:

Selects and operates MRI and support equipment, manually selecting proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
Performs MRI procedures according to department protocols.
Prepares contrast media for administration.
Practices sterile techniques as required and observes infection control procedures.
Responsible for the correct identification of patients.
Assists physicians in performance of examinations.
Maintains orderliness and cleanliness.

Requirements:

High School graduation or equivalent required. Graduate of approved school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
Must have certifications from The American Registry of Radiologic Technology, one being R.T. (R). Advanced MRI certification preferred.
Must be licensed by the state of New York.
Certified to inject and start IV for contrast injections required.
BLS certification required.
Maintains the recommended CME by the ARRT.
