Job Summary

Catholic Health Service is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist-PD to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance (MR) equipment to obtain high-quality images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Selects and operates MRI and support equipment, manually selecting proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
  • Performs MRI procedures according to department protocols.
  • Prepares contrast media for administration.
  • Practices sterile techniques as required and observes infection control procedures.
  • Responsible for the correct identification of patients.
  • Assists physicians in performance of examinations.
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness.
Requirements
  • High School graduation or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of approved school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
  • Must have certifications from The American Registry of Radiologic Technology, one being R.T. (R). Advanced MRI certification preferred.
  • Must be licensed by the state of New York.
  • Certified to inject and start IV for contrast injections required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Maintains the recommended CME by the ARRT.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred at least 2 years experience as a x-ray tech, with some MRI knowledge/clinical training.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work with ionizing radiation producing and Magnetic Resonance (MR) equipment, computers and other medical equipment and communication devices.

Salary and Benefits
