As a PET/CT Technologist, you will play a vital role in our team by administering radioactive chemical compounds, performing patient imaging procedures, and providing accurate results to our physicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer radioactive chemical compounds to patients
  • Perform patient imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation
  • Accomplish computer processing and image enhancement
  • Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation
  • Monitor patients' conditions and reactions during the scan, reporting abnormal signs to Physicians
  • Perform complex PET exams, consulting a Radiologist for appropriate scan procedures
  • Gain the patient's confidence by obtaining pertinent history, describing the procedure, and answering any questions
  • Monitor the patient's physical condition during the procedure
  • Note any specific patient comments that might indicate the need for additional images or might be useful to the physician in interpreting the results of the procedure
  • Keep track of safety measures to protect patients while performing scans
  • Ensure that the equipment is properly working. Calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot radiologic equipment carefully

Requirements:

  • Diploma from a Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB and/or ARRT-N)
  • NMTCB(CT) and/or ARRT(CT)
  • NYS License required
  • At least 2 years' experience
