Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a Medical Records Specialist at the Helen Ross McNabb Center in Knoxville, TN. As a Medical Records Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate and complete health care records for our clients. Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and complete health care records for clients, including but not limited to nurse admission notes, complete nurse notes, and nurse discharge notes.
  • Review medical records for pertinent previous and current information.
  • Provide routine nursing care for clients, including obtaining vital signs and providing wound care when indicated.
  • Follow medical protocols and restore and promote client's health by completing the nursing process.
  • Identify client care requirements by establishing personal rapport with clients and assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards.
  • Protect clients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Maintain continuity among team members by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintain client confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintain nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level and communicating need of supplies to RN Coordinator.
Requirements
  • Graduate of accredited school of licensed practical nursing and hold current license in Tennessee.
  • Excellent knowledge of medical terminology and knowledge of infection control.
  • Ability to use computer and electronic medical record and excellent computer skills, including Windows, electronic medical record, and email.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required (training provided).
Work Environment

This position requires working 12-hour shifts, rotating weekends, and scheduled holidays. Must be able to have excellent attendance and start the workday at assigned time. Must be able to work required 12-hour shifts. Travel is not required for this position.
