Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will oversee various cross-functional teams aimed at managing clients' renewable energy assets and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. Responsibilities include optimizing portfolios and ensuring the successful execution of Radian's service offerings.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the commercial, contractual, regulatory, and reporting requirements associated with a moderate number of renewable energy asset portfolios (solar, wind, BESS). Ensure compliance with all project agreements and fully comprehend Radian's Asset Management services.
- Lead the integration of new portfolios and projects, facilitating collaboration among Radian teams to streamline onboarding processes.
- Support the Senior Portfolio Manager and team members in tracking ongoing tasks and deliverables; become proficient in the Radian Digital platform and other standard tools to enhance workflow.
- Review and validate performance and financial reports for operating projects, capable of developing both standard and customized reports as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Technical Asset Management team and manage contracts with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) personnel to enhance project performance and operations.
- Work with the Financial Asset Management team to assist in billing, revenue tracking, invoice management, SREC administration, settlements, and other financial obligations. Oversee the initial setup of invoicing, SRECs, settlements, and revenue tracking, demonstrating a thorough understanding of these processes.
- Monitor project performance, weather, and operational data for active projects through event tickets and O&M work orders, utilizing this data for analysis and reporting to provide valuable recommendations to clients.
- Manage document administration and data rooms for project-specific documentation.
- Oversee the process of creating, coordinating, compiling, and submitting FERC, EIA, and other regulatory compliance documents with support from internal teams and external partners.
- Effectively manage relationships with key project stakeholders, including project owners, investors, power offtakers, O&M providers, and internal cross-functional team members.
- Organize meeting agendas, lead discussions with clients, O&M providers, and other external parties, as well as internal teams.
- Enhance expertise in specialized areas and become a subject matter expert.
- Lead projects and drive activities across multiple portfolios and projects of varying sizes and complexities, resolving medium to complex issues and contributing to the development of new SOPs and templates as required.
- Supervise at least three direct reports, overseeing compensation planning, career development, training, and adherence to company policies.
- Mentor junior team members and direct reports, delegating and guiding the completion of standard monthly tasks assigned to all team members.
- Contribute to the development of initiatives for the broader PM team and Radian as a whole.
- 1-2 years of experience managing direct reports.
- 4-6 years of experience in renewable energy asset management or operations, or equivalent experience in the renewable energy sector.
- Exceptional client management and communication skills, with the ability to address high-visibility issues and communicate effectively in challenging situations.
- Experience in performance data analysis, project-specific recommendations, cost-benefit analyses, reporting, and presentations.
- Experience in budget management and utilizing complex financial models for the oversight of operating assets.
- Proven documentation, presentation, and communication skills with working teams and senior management.
- A University Degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Economics, Energy Studies, Environmental Studies, Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience managing operating renewable energy asset portfolios: solar, wind, or BESS.
- Familiarity with interpreting and managing various types of renewable energy contracts, including PPAs, IAs, LLCAs, O&M contracts, and warranty documents.
- Understanding of managing, overseeing, or coordinating FERC and other regulatory compliance obligations for utility-scale and C&I renewable energy projects.
- Experience negotiating and managing Asset Management, O&M, EPC, and various other contracts with third-party vendors.
- Personnel management, coaching, and mentoring skills. Ability to define goals and lead a team to achieve them while working collaboratively within a larger team.
