Job Overview

Position Title: Housing Services Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Housing
Compensation Range: $50,000 to $70,000
Work Schedule: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday

Role Summary: The Housing Services Coordinator will primarily oversee the Landlord Housing Partnership. This position will also assist with United Way's various housing programs, including initiatives aimed at preventing eviction and supporting those experiencing homelessness. Responsibilities include providing support to landlords, case management teams, and other community service providers involved in these housing efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture partnerships with landlords offering rental housing to individuals and families facing homelessness.
  • Engage in outreach efforts to landlords and relevant associations, sharing information about our programs and fostering collaboration.
  • Identify available housing units and work closely with landlords and case managers to facilitate client housing placements and ensure retention.
  • Manage landlord incentive payments, confirming eligibility and ensuring the submission of all necessary documentation.
  • Assist landlords in resolving issues and concerns in collaboration with case managers.
  • Enhance communication and coordination among case management providers regarding landlord relationships and case discussions. Offer targeted guidance to ensure adherence to evidence-based best practices and provide additional technical support as needed.
  • Guide case management providers in implementing evidence-based practices that enhance their capacity to house individuals and improve the quality of life for participants.
  • Support other housing initiatives by United Way, including eviction prevention and housing stability programs.
  • Contribute to data quality, performance management, and program sustainability.
  • Participate in regular governance meetings related to housing programs and initiatives.

Essential Competencies:

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience or a bachelor's degree in social services, public health, or a related field, including at least 2 years of experience working with individuals facing complex life challenges such as mental health issues, trauma, substance use, and homelessness.
  • Experience collaborating with social service teams, teaching adult learners, or working across multiple disciplines and cultures is preferred.
  • Familiarity with community resources available in Anchorage, particularly those beneficial to individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
