Reliability Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled Reliability Engineer to join our team at Apple. As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability of our iPhone display and touch technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify high-risk failure modes early in the design life cycle and collaborate with design engineering teams to reduce the risk.
  • Develop new tests based on the physics of failure and expected user behaviors, and deliver test equipment and specifications that are critical to validate the product reliability.
  • Work with vendors to meet reliability requirements and support failure analysis, providing design direction based on your evaluation of the test data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (engineering, physics, etc).
  • 3-5+ years of experience in an engineering role.
  • Collaborative attitude and ability to cross-functionally work effectively.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to make clear and concise slides and presentations.
  • Strong attention to detail and curiosity of how technologies work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. or PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • Statistical experience such as Weibull, JMP, or familiarity with accelerated test models.
  • Familiarity with Failure Analysis techniques and the ability to use failure analysis methodology to derive a root cause of failure.
