Youth Program Executive

Position Overview:

The YMCA of South Florida is seeking a dedicated and experienced leader to oversee the Youth Development Department. This role is crucial in advancing our mission and ensuring the successful operation of various youth-oriented programs across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and assess the program budget, ensuring financial tracking and accountability.
  2. Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing program retention and expansion.
  3. Establish and nurture ongoing communication with educational leaders and stakeholders.
  4. Engage actively with parent and teacher organizations to foster community involvement.
  5. Implement and uphold Program Quality Standards while contributing to their evolution.
  6. Conduct regular evaluations and site visits to ensure program excellence and compliance with grant requirements.
  7. Supervise and mentor all program staff, ensuring high performance and accountability.
  8. Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of staff, including implementing necessary disciplinary actions.
  9. Set clear objectives and performance plans for Site Directors.
  10. Design and implement staff training programs that meet organizational and regulatory standards.
  11. Participate in all required departmental meetings and discussions.
  12. Manage payroll processes efficiently on a bi-weekly basis.
  13. Support curriculum development and execution, ensuring alignment with grant objectives.
  14. Monitor nutrition counts on a daily and weekly basis.
  15. Maintain Accounts Receivable at a minimal percentage.
  16. Lead fundraising initiatives during key campaigns.
  17. Ensure adherence to all grant stipulations and manage assessment processes.
  18. Assist in collecting and organizing necessary data for grant reporting.
  19. Act as a representative for funding bodies and community partners.
  20. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  2. Proven leadership experience in youth development or similar fields.
  3. Strong organizational and management capabilities.
  4. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Familiarity with the unique needs of the Miami-Dade County community.
  6. Experience in budget management, fiscal oversight, and fundraising activities.
  7. Ability to respond to emergencies with appropriate visual and auditory skills.
  8. Proven ability to collaborate with diverse groups and build strategic partnerships.
  9. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Certifications Required:

  1. Florida Child Care Facility Director's Credentials for managing K-5 programs (to be obtained within 18 months of hire).
  2. Valid Driver's License.
  3. Certification in Adult/Child CPR & First Aid.
  4. Successful completion of a Level II fingerprinting background screening is mandatory.
