ABOUT AMIGOS FOR KIDS:

Amigos For Kids is a nonprofit organization focused on preventing child abuse and neglect by promoting the well-being of children, enhancing family stability, and fostering community education. Established in 1991, the organization aims to uplift families in under-resourced areas through various educational and advocacy initiatives.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Youth Services Site Coordinator, under the guidance of the Associate Director of Youth Services, is tasked with the daily management and oversight of the program at designated sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the primary liaison for parents and families.
  • Maintain comprehensive records for the assigned program site(s).
  • Supervise instructional staff directly.
  • Manage the registration process for new participants.
  • Ensure accurate attendance tracking for all participants.
  • Input and verify program data for accuracy.
  • Oversee the arrival and dismissal procedures for students.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Counselor on student assessments.
  • Conduct informal classroom observations to monitor quality.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Document incidents, accidents, and complaints.
  • Communicate any concerns to the immediate supervisor.
  • Provide feedback on instructional materials and strategies.
  • Work with supervisors and counselors to schedule literacy instruction.
  • Partner with the Curriculum Specialist to develop lesson plans.
  • Deliver literacy instruction to students in grades 1 through 5.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress.
  • Serve as a backup counselor when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of an associate degree in education or a related field is required, with a preference for a bachelor's degree. Candidates should have at least three years of experience in literacy instruction within an elementary school environment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Consent to a fingerprinting and Level 2 background check.
  • Submit to random drug testing as per organizational policies.
  • Participate in ongoing staff development and training.
  • Sign an Affidavit of Good Moral Character.
  • Have no felony or misdemeanor convictions related to abuse or neglect.
  • Provide references upon request.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, sit, crouch, bend, speak, and hear.
  • Engage in physical activities with participants without limitations.
  • Lift, carry, or move objects weighing between 10 and 20 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to work effectively amidst distractions and interruptions.
  • Moderate noise levels in the work environment.
  • Flexible working hours to accommodate afterschool programming.
