Available Shifts: 2:30 PM - 11 PM and 10:30 PM - 7 AM
Evening and weekend availability is essential.
Role Overview:
This position is integral to our direct service delivery. The Youth Care Specialist is responsible for supervising residents aged 10-17, ensuring their safety and well-being, and facilitating their participation in external activities. In this role, you will serve as a mentor, encouraging residents to pursue educational advancement and develop essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a supportive atmosphere for youth and supervise their activities.
- Utilize trauma-informed care practices to provide consistent support and safety for residents.
- Maintain daily security and upkeep of the facility.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of individual client case plans.
- Document and track daily activities of youth.
- Assign and oversee household responsibilities.
- Prepare meals as necessary.
- Conduct client screenings and initial intakes, as well as administer satisfaction surveys when required.
- Complete essential documentation for clients.
- Supervise clients in self-administering medications.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience working with youth and at-risk populations in a structured environment is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours.
- Possession of a valid state driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
Skills and Abilities:
- Dependability, discretion, and sound judgment are crucial.
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and the community.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds of our service population.
- Collaborative team player.
