Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Barista Team Member to join our team at D&W Fresh Market. As a Barista Team Member, you will be responsible for preparing coffee shop beverages and food, operating a cash register, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Coffee Shop Beverages: Brew, mix, and/or blend beverages according to set standards.
  • Prepare Food Items: Prepare food items according to procedures.
  • Ensure Food and Beverage Safety: Ensure food and beverages are handled in a safe manner and according to established guidelines, and work is completed in a clean work environment.
  • Operate Cash Register: Operate cash register to itemize customer purchases and process payments.
  • Stock and Rotate Inventory: Stock items and rotate coffee shop inventory and merchandise displays.
  • Understand Store Programs: Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations.
  • Use Check-Stand Equipment: Understand use of check-stand equipment (i.e., register) and coffee shop equipment and its efficient operation.
  • Notify Department Lead: Notify the department lead or manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
  • Comply with Company Policies: Comply with Company policies regarding security, cash handling/cash drawer accounting procedures, product handling (i.e., damaged/spoiled products), etc.
  • Maintain a Clean Department: Maintain a clean and well-stocked department; ensure the department complies with Company safety and sanitation procedures and standards.
  • Communicate with Customers: Communicate the Company programs (i.e., loyalty program, scans, etc.), in-store specials and coupons to customers, and models high standards of service to achieve a customer-oriented store.
  • Follow Safety Guidelines: Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines.
  • Follow Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations: Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations.
  • Follow Guest Experience Guidelines: Follow Guest Experience Guidelines.
  • Additional Responsibilities: May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience need.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Experience: One year of retail or related experience preferred.
  • Skills: Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers. Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required.
