Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Barista to join our team at Forest Hills Foods. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee shop beverages and food, operating a cash register, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Coffee Shop Beverages: Brew, mix, and/or blend beverages according to established standards.
  • Prepare Food Items: Prepare food items according to procedures to ensure high-quality products.
  • Ensure Food and Beverage Safety: Handle food and beverages in a safe manner and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Operate Cash Register: Itemize customer purchases and process payments in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Stock and Merchandise: Stock items and rotate coffee shop merchandise displays to maintain a visually appealing environment.
  • Understand Store Programs: Maintain knowledge of current store programs and product locations to provide excellent customer service.
  • Use Check-Stand Equipment: Understand the use of check-stand equipment and coffee shop equipment to efficiently operate the cash register and prepare beverages.
  • Notify Department Lead: Notify the department lead or manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
  • Comply with Company Policies: Comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a Clean Department: Maintain a clean and well-stocked department to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Communicate Company Programs: Communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers to enhance their shopping experience.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: One year of retail or related experience preferred.
  • Skills: Good verbal communication skills, ability to interact politely and effectively with customers, good customer service and organizational skills, and basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
