  • Execute standard injection procedures utilizing appropriate techniques and proficient animal handling.
  • Conduct tumor volume assessments.
  • Perform both survival and terminal blood collections, processing whole blood for serum and/or plasma extraction.
  • Carry out daily clinical assessments and monitor animals for indications of illness or distress, documenting and reporting observations.
  • Measure animal lesions and/or tumors as necessary.
  • Weigh animals and document findings as required.
  • Maintain vascular access via button catheters in rats and perform catheter blood collections when needed.

Vivarium Duties:

  • Support general animal husbandry tasks (including animal intake and breeding colony management) as necessary.
  • Oversee daily facility operations and inventory management.

Administrative Duties:

  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of all findings and observations during procedures, studies, and vivarium checks.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to strategize and implement studies in accordance with IACUC guidelines.
  • Conduct quality reviews of all essential in-life study documentation to guarantee precise completion of all related procedures and animal records.

Qualifications:

  • AA/AS/BA/BS degree.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a laboratory environment with proficiency in aseptic techniques.
  • 2-3 years of experience in laboratory animal research, specifically with rodents, utilizing standard sterile methods.
