Culinary Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Uptown Blanco Arts & Entertainment, Ltd. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality menu items to meet the expectations of our discerning guests.
Key Responsibilities- Cooking and Preparation: Cook food orders at stations by following established recipes and presentation standards for grilling, broiling, and sautéing menu items.
- Food Safety and Sanitation: Adhere to established storage and waste control standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products to ensure quality food is served.
- Teamwork and Communication: Demonstrate professional and pleasant demeanor when interacting with visitors, vendors, and associates.
- Food Station Management: Establish a system of food stations and stock them with all of the necessary ingredients for the shift.
- Portion Control and Presentation: Portion and preparation of food items, including fish, beef, chicken, pork, etc., as prescribed by company specifications.
- Sauce and Garnish Preparation: Prepare sauces and/or garnishes as required by company specifications related to the specific menu item.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform related work as assigned and as circumstance requires.
- Experience: We prefer some experience working in the food service industry.
- Skills and Abilities: Candidates must be hardworking, detail-oriented, and have a strong work ethic. Ability to understand and comply with kitchen sanitation, safety, and equipment usage, and food storage.
- Education and Certifications: Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is preferred. Must meet the minimum age requirement as prescribed by law. Possess or willing to obtain a valid Food Handler Certificate.
- Standing and Lifting: Prolonged periods of standing and preparing and cooking food. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Work Environment: Must be able to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold.
