Quality Assurance Technician

2nd Shift

Position Overview:
The Quality Assurance Technician is tasked with employing precision measurement instruments, including micrometers and comparators, to conduct mechanical inspections. This role involves operating CMM inspection machinery and accurately interpreting the resulting reports. The technician will perform various inspections throughout the production process, ensuring adherence to quality standards while supporting data collection and maintaining a safe and organized workplace.

Key Responsibilities:
*Conduct routine mechanical inspections in accordance with established inspection records and technical drawings, utilizing predetermined methods to assess product quality.
*Analyze inspection data to ensure accuracy and address any discrepancies identified during inspections.
*Utilize the company’s operational system to access necessary inspection documentation, complete required forms, and manage material movements as needed.
*Effectively communicate with supervisory staff regarding any issues and necessary corrective actions.
*Prepare detailed, clear, and concise reports outlining inspection results.
*Proactively seek opportunities to enhance daily processes to improve quality and efficiency.
*Operate basic CMM programs and employ precision automated inspection tools.
*Engage in 5S workplace organization initiatives and maintain a clean and orderly work environment through ongoing sustainment efforts.
*Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
*Proficient in the use of general measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
*Basic skills in MS Word and Excel.
*Fundamental blueprint reading abilities.
*Understanding of machining processes.
*Familiarity with components, assemblies, and product functionality.

Work Environment:
*Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
*Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for specific tasks.
