Business Development Manager, Under Car / Brakes
The Business Development Manager, Under Car / Brakes is a key role within the Genuine Parts Company, responsible for expanding Under Car product sales to current and new customers at all distribution levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive Under Car sales growth, including sales promotions and training programs.
- Collaborate with TSM/TMOD teams to ensure ISO Store Readiness and Inventory levels are met.
- Provide market insights to inform sales and strategic Category initiatives.
- Achieve territory sales quotas and deliver training to store employees on Under Car programs.
- Build long-term relationships with store owners and employees, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Manage and lead category-specific sales blitzes in assigned territory.
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial targets.
- Deliver top-notch customer service and communication to all accounts in the territory.
- Stay up-to-date on all aspects of assigned product lines, providing expert knowledge to customers.
- Develop and deliver classroom and/or in-field education and training to customers on assigned product lines.
- Execute weekly, monthly, quarterly, and HQ sales plans to drive business growth and achieve company objectives.
- Implement Category sales programs/strategies to enhance territory, DC, District, and/or area business activities.
- Conduct regular account reviews to keep management informed of key progress indicators.
- Attend and organize key promotional events and trade shows.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share marketing intelligence on product opportunities that drive sales growth.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of previous selling and account management experience, with a proven track record of developing new business while maintaining and growing existing business.
- A valid driver's license with no DWI convictions within the past four years and not more than three moving violations or two at-fault accidents in the last three years.
- Ability to travel within assigned territory, including overnight stays as required by the territory.
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
- Proficiency with standard corporate productivity tools (Qlik, PowerBI, MS Office, CRM applications, etc.).
- Current role for at least six months and GPC for one year before applying.
- Last performance review should reflect meeting or exceeding expectations.
- Not on a Performance Improvement Plan and/or had a written or final warning in the last 12 months.

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent sales/marketing experience.

Physical Demands / Working Environment
- Ability to operate a company vehicle safely and effectively for extended periods of time throughout cities, job sites, major highways, and interstates (including tunnels and bridges) and in all weather conditions.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use of hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to frequently attend events after hours and/or on weekends.
- Travel requirements upwards of 50% at any given time.
