Position Overview:

Dewberry is a prominent professional services firm with a significant presence across the nation, employing over 2,000 experts. Our team in Raleigh, NC, is composed of more than 200 skilled design professionals, including a robust Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural (MEPS) Group. This group is dedicated to delivering exceptional design services to clients throughout the region, including North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina. Our portfolio encompasses a wide range of projects, including major healthcare systems, educational institutions, and infrastructure developments.

As we continue to expand our operations, we are looking for a Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection Consultant to enhance our Raleigh office. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing technical expertise and mentorship to our team. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with Project Managers to ensure client requirements are met within budgetary constraints. You will work alongside a diverse group of engineers, integrating your knowledge with other disciplines to deliver comprehensive services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer technical oversight and quality assurance for all project-related work in Plumbing and Fire Protection engineering.
  • Facilitate the professional development and training of junior staff members.
  • Contribute to the establishment and enhancement of standards, practices, and specifications within the discipline.
  • Act as the Engineer of Record for various projects.
  • Provide immediate technical advice and cost assessments as needed.
  • Coordinate effectively with all involved disciplines, including external consultants.
  • Engage with code officials and contractors to ensure compliance and address technical inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a preference for existing licensure in North Carolina.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Proven track record of successfully overseeing multiple projects while adhering to contract specifications and technical standards.
  • Strong self-motivation and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
