Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism and developmental disabilities in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:

Support classroom staff with behavior-related tasks and activities, ensuring the implementation of the IEP and Behavior Support Plan.
Provide behavior support and crisis intervention for students as assigned, utilizing your knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support.
Analyze student information to ensure conformity with the Behavior Support Plan, providing input into behavior programs in collaboration with behavior specialists and support workers.
Assess and assist classroom staff on the implementation of the Behavior Support Plan, ensuring effective behavioral management.
Collaborate with behavior specialists and other team members regarding behavior issues in school and the community, participating in team meetings and specialized training sessions.
Prepare documentation and assessments as needed, maintaining accurate records of student behavior and progress.
Actively participate in bus duty and lunch coverage, assisting with overall program functions as needed.

Requirements:

Must have at least 18 credits in psychology or a related area and possess a minimum of 1-year experience with individuals with Autism or developmental disability, or hold Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification and possess a minimum of 1-year experience with individuals with Autism or developmental disability.
Must possess knowledge, experience, and skill with Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support.
Must keep TA or other certification active, and obtain SCIP Certification within 3 months of hire, as well as pass Teaching Strategies and ABA within 3 months of hire.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to modify the area to secure the safety of the children, including moving/pushing tables and other heavy objects up to 20 lbs, lifting/moving 20 lbs, running after students up to 500 feet, and responding to fire alarms.
