POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Registered Nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, you will provide expert nursing care to adult and elderly surgical patients during their immediate recovery phase.

Your nursing practice will align with the hospital's objectives and adhere to the standards set forth by the Association of Peri-anesthesia Nurses (ASPAN). You will utilize the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to deliver age-appropriate care.

You will collaborate with medical staff and support personnel to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Your role will involve performing nursing techniques that enhance patient comfort and well-being, preparing equipment, and assisting physicians during patient examinations and treatments. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this position.

Additionally, you will serve as a resource for departmental needs, which may include mentoring new staff and assuming charge nurse responsibilities as required.

Flexibility in scheduling and availability for on-call duties during nights, weekends, and holidays is necessary.

Knowledge of regulatory compliance and adherence to guidelines from agencies such as TJC, OSHA, ACHA, and CMS is required.

In this role, you will conduct yourself in a manner that reflects positively on the department and the hospital. You will work collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues to foster a harmonious work environment.

All interactions with patients, the public, physicians, and hospital staff should be handled with friendliness, courtesy, and consideration. You will answer calls promptly and courteously, addressing concerns and providing assistance as needed. Your commitment to meeting the expectations of both internal and external customers is paramount, and you will work proactively to identify and resolve issues.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current Florida RN License
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification
  • Minimum one year of post-operative nursing experience
  • Effective oral communication skills in English
