Clinical Laboratory Specialist - Full Time - Nights - Competitive Sign-on Bonus

Job Summary

As a Clinical Laboratory Specialist, you will be responsible for executing all standard technical procedures within the laboratory setting. Your role will include:

  • Assisting with phlebotomy duties as required.
  • Prioritizing tasks effectively during operational hours.
  • Evaluating the adequacy of submitted specimens and requesting replacements when necessary.
  • Interrupting testing sequences to perform urgent (STAT) procedures.
  • Reviewing and verifying questionable results.
  • Alerting supervisors when additional personnel are needed due to workload demands.
  • Overseeing laboratory activities when acting as the lead technologist, particularly during weekends and holidays.
  • Guiding trainees in their bench work activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with standards set by regulatory agencies.
  • Providing care for patients across all age groups.
Professional Conduct

In this role, you will be expected to maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions, thereby fostering a positive image of the laboratory and the healthcare facility. You will collaborate with laboratory staff, nursing personnel, medical professionals, visitors, and patients in a courteous and professional manner. Additionally, you will:

  • Engage with manufacturers and sales representatives in a respectful manner.
  • Handle all communications with care, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Answer phone calls promptly and courteously, addressing concerns and providing assistance as needed.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
  • A minimum of six months of technical experience is required, with three or more years preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
