In your role as a Clinical Nurse in our IV Therapy Unit, you will engage with intricate medical histories, cutting-edge surgical techniques, pain management strategies, and comprehensive nutritional care.

Your primary responsibilities will encompass but are not limited to:

  • Delivering direct nursing care.
  • Observing, documenting, and communicating patient conditions as necessary.
  • Developing patient care strategies.
  • Administering prescribed medications.
  • Executing infusion therapies.

The ideal candidate will:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care strategies.
  • Observes, documents, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate.
  • Evaluates and updates care plans to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Acts as the primary coordinator for all disciplines involved in patient care.
  • Administers medications and treatments according to approved nursing protocols.
  • Executes physician and nursing orders.
  • Coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
  • Assesses educational needs of patients and their families, considering cultural and other specific concerns.
  • Provides teaching and educational resources as needed.
  • Validates and documents patient and family understanding of educational materials.
  • Engages in ongoing professional development through formal and informal education and clinical study.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.
  • Completion of a Critical Care Course or validated on-the-job training for critical care settings.
  • Completion of Periop 101 or validated on-the-job training for the Operating Room.

Certifications Required:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through AHA must be obtained upon hire or within the first year based on departmental requirements.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on specific care areas.

Work Environment:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to perform under stress and respond appropriately.

Experience:

  • Minimum one year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting required.
  • Experience in skilled nursing facilities or rehabilitation settings may also be considered.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, and coordination.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Requires normal vision and hearing capabilities.
  • Must be able to work under stress and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids is expected.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Adheres to standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
