Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Specialist

PeaceHealth, recognized as one of the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America, is seeking a part-time Wound Care & Ostomy Physician (MD/DO) to contribute to the Southwest Medical Center Wound Healing Center.
This role is vital in delivering exceptional care to our patients and the community. Our center is equipped with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, medical assistants, and hyperbaric oxygen specialists, all focused on treating various chronic wounds.
Ideal Candidate:The preferred candidates will possess experience in Wound Care & Ostomy. Familiarity with EPIC EMR is advantageous, and we welcome new graduates to apply.
Practice Highlights:- Inviting and supportive environment for patients, featuring 17 examination rooms.
- 0.6 FTE schedule without on-call duties, utilizing EPIC EMR.
- Opportunity to see approximately 24 patients daily.
- Dedicated support team for each provider, including RNs, LPNs, and MAs.
- Collaborative and mission-driven workplace culture.
- Perform wound debridement using various methods safely during patient visits.
- Manage and apply topical wound care and ostomy products.
- Occasionally handle peg tube dressings and related wound care.
- Guide and recommend services to enhance wound healing outcomes.
- Interpret diagnostic tests and suggest appropriate follow-up actions.
- Order and recommend necessary medications and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) for wound healing and prevention.
- Conduct diabetic foot ulcer risk assessments for diabetic patients per ADA guidelines.
- Educate patients on the management of their wounds, both topically and systemically.
- Provide updates to primary care physicians regarding patients' systemic conditions related to wound care.
- Collaborate with staff to identify patient needs and develop appropriate care plans.
- Demonstrate the ability to teach and provide advanced nursing knowledge.
