Overview:

This role is essential in delivering high-quality care to our patients and the community. Our center is equipped with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and hyperbaric oxygen specialists, all focused on the effective treatment of various chronic wounds.

Ideal Candidate:

The successful candidate will possess experience in Wound Care & Ostomy. Familiarity with EPIC EMR is preferred, and we welcome applications from new graduates.

Practice Highlights:
  • Supportive and inviting environment for patients, featuring 17 examination rooms.
  • Part-time schedule of 0.6 FTE without on-call duties, utilizing EPIC EMR.
  • Opportunity to manage approximately 24 patients daily.
  • Access to a dedicated support team, including RNs, LPNs, and MAs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform wound debridement using various methods, ensuring patient safety during visits.
  • Manage and apply topical wound care and ostomy products.
  • Occasionally handle peg tube dressings and related wound care.
  • Provide direction and recommendations for services aimed at enhancing wound healing outcomes.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests and suggest appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Order and recommend necessary medications and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) for effective wound management.
  • Conduct diabetic foot ulcer risk assessments in accordance with ADA guidelines.
  • Educate patients on both topical and systemic wound management strategies.
  • Keep Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) informed about current wound management practices and patient progress.
  • Collaborate with staff to assess patient needs and develop tailored care plans.
  • Demonstrate the ability to teach and provide advanced nursing knowledge.
