This role is vital in providing essential services to our patients and the broader community. Our Center is equipped with a dedicated team of four physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and hyperbaric oxygen specialists, all committed to the effective treatment of various chronic wounds.
Ideal Candidate:
The preferred candidates will possess experience in Wound Care & Ostomy as an MD/DO. Familiarity with EPIC EMR is advantageous, and we welcome applications from new graduates.
Practice Highlights:
- Inviting and supportive environment for patients, featuring 17 examination rooms.
- 0.6 FTE schedule without on-call duties, utilizing EPIC EMR.
- Opportunity to see approximately 24 patients daily.
- Dedicated support team comprising RNs, LPNs, and MAs for each provider.
- Collaborative, mission-driven culture focused on teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform debridement of wounds using sharp, enzymatic, autolytic, or surgical techniques, ensuring procedures are safely conducted during patient visits.
- Manage and apply topical wound care and ostomy-related products.
- Occasionally handle peg tube dressings and wound care.
- Provide direction and recommendations for services aimed at enhancing wound healing outcomes.
- Interpret diagnostic tests and suggest appropriate follow-up actions.
- Order and recommend necessary medications and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to support wound healing and prevention.
- Conduct diabetic foot ulcer risk assessments for diabetic patients, adhering to ADA guidelines.
- Educate patients on both topical and systemic wound management.
- Inform Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) or referring physicians about current wound management practices and updates on patient conditions.
- Collaborate with staff to assess patient needs and develop comprehensive care plans.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to teach and provide advanced nursing knowledge.
