Position: Baking Assistant / Direct Support Professional
Reports to: Culinary Director
Compensation: $20.00 per hour, based on qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Prior culinary experience is essential.
  • Experience in a bakery setting is preferred.
  • Background in human services is advantageous.
  • Strong skills in human relations, leadership, and conflict resolution.
  • Attention to detail and effective time management are crucial.
  • A commitment to quality, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Excellent communication and listening abilities.

  • Capability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 5 hours).
  • Ability to lift equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions: Regular lifting of kitchen equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs. is necessary. Clear communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities may include operating agency vehicles and supervising students/consumers, as well as handling any necessary physical interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with families and students/consumers.
  • Adhere to student/consumer lesson plans.
  • Effectively communicate issues to the Culinary Director as they arise.
  • Complete all required documentation.
  • Timely communication with all relevant parties.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment by complying with health regulations.
  • Demonstrate basic knife skills and teach safe knife handling.
  • Transport assigned clients and supervise them in various settings.
  • Collaborate one-on-one with clients to create bakery products.
  • Accurately measure and mix ingredients for various baked goods, including cookies, cakes, and pastries.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work area.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively.
  • Deliver information clearly and respectfully to team members, customers, and vendors.
  • Follow directions and procedures with effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Complete Serve Safe Certification as required.
