The Hartford's Umbrella and Excess team plays a crucial role in providing risk management solutions that support mid-sized and large enterprises in navigating significant liability claims that surpass primary coverage limits.

We specialize in delivering customized umbrella and excess solutions across various industries, backed by a highly skilled and responsive team renowned for exceptional underwriting, claims management, and risk engineering capabilities.


Key Responsibilities:


- Deliver expert underwriting knowledge in risk assessment, pricing, administration, and management of the Umbrella and Excess portfolio.

- Ensure profitable underwriting and maintain a balanced portfolio.
- Identify suitable opportunities that align with our risk appetite.
- Develop and implement strategies for both new and renewal accounts.
- Provide consultative solutions to clients.
- Offer exceptional account management services through strategic planning and operational excellence, tailoring service plans to meet individual client needs.
- Influence and determine final account pricing and terms.
- Build and sustain a robust account pipeline.
- Oversee the sales process, including planning, operational routines, and performance monitoring.
- Be well-informed about The Hartford's value proposition to enhance our competitive edge.
- Maintain high professional standards and hold both internal and external stakeholders accountable.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in P&C Carrier Umbrella, Excess, and/or Casualty Underwriting.- Proven track record in cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with business partners.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical thinking capabilities to address business challenges and propose effective solutions.
- High-energy self-starter with resilience and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
- Goal-oriented with a focus on delivering results.
- Ability to challenge conventional practices and a strong desire to succeed.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring in-office presence or agency visits three days a week.


Compensation:
The annualized base pay range for this role is determined by an analysis of similar positions in the market. Actual compensation may vary based on performance, proficiency, and the demonstration of required competencies. The base pay is one component of The Hartford's comprehensive compensation package, which may also include bonuses, long-term incentives, and recognition rewards.

The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$94,240 - $141,360
