Affordable Housing Accountant - Real Estate Professional

Are you an expert in Affordable Housing and HUD management? Do you have a passion for accounting and financial management? We are seeking a highly skilled Affordable Housing Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for overseeing property accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy in monthly accounting entries, bank reconciliations, and rent calculations. You will also prepare and review monthly financial statements and budget vs. actual variance analyses, ensuring compliance with HUD regulations and preparing necessary funding reports. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee property accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy in monthly accounting entries, bank reconciliations, and rent calculations
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and budget vs. actual variance analyses
  • Ensure compliance with HUD regulations and prepare necessary funding reports
  • Collaborate with site personnel and management to prepare property budgets and annual audit packages
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting, with a focus on HUD and affordable housing
  • Proficiency in RealPage, with experience in Yardi preferred
