Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Multifamily Underwriter to join our team at Merchants Capital. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for reviewing new applications, analyzing financial feasibility, and preparing applications for approval by our Loan Committee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review new applications and monitor the receipt of due diligence from borrowers
  • Analyze financial feasibility of new transactions, including construction, acquisition, and refinance loans
  • Prepare applications for approval by the Bank's Loan Committee
  • Ensure loan documentation meets bank and secondary market guidelines
Requirements
  • 5+ years of multifamily underwriting experience; affordable housing experience preferred
  • Requires an experienced understanding of the multifamily real estate lending process
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in finance or a related field of study from an accredited institution
  • Candidates must demonstrate successful critical thinking skills
  • Requires the ability to multitask and perform accurate, timely work with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
