**Job Title:** Assistant Manager

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Nothing Bundt Cakes. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in leading our bakery team to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • **Team Leadership:**
    • Prioritize the customer experience and foster a positive work environment.
    • Assist in recruitment, hiring, and training team members, including conducting in-person interviews and onboarding paperwork.
    • Engage frequently with team members to gain insight into workload and progress, address any challenges, and course-correct as needed.
    • Provide continuous coaching and follow-up to develop team members and manage performance, delivering constructive feedback and addressing performance issues in a timely and effective manner.
    • Act as onsite manager when the owner or manager is not present, ensuring the bakery operates smoothly, maintaining appropriate staffing levels, and providing coaching and team member development.
    • Maintain hands-on knowledge of all bakery roles and steps in regularly to perform various responsibilities as business needs dictate.
  • **Business Operations:**
    • Facilitate the opening and closing of the bakery, including cash-drawer balancing and bank deposits.
    • Manage special-order fulfillment via web and email for individual guests and corporate accounts, as well as large, complex orders and deliveries.
    • Create and communicate weekly sales productivity goals, cake production plans, and team schedules, adjusting bakery coverage based on changing business trends.
    • Assist in setting inventory par levels based on production demand and sales forecasts, monitoring stock levels, and processing weekly supply orders.
    • Ensure Nothing Bundt Cakes product, service, bakery environment, and visual merchandising standards are consistently upheld, and all bakery operations adhere to food and health safety standards and company policies and procedures.
    • Manage guest complaints and issues resolution at the time of occurrence.
    • Approve discounts, refunds, and order cancellations based on advisement from the owner or manager.

    • Lead proactive community outreach to increase brand visibility in the market and engage in brand-aligned events.
    • Coordinate special event participation with local businesses, schools, and other community organizers.
    • Coordinate community donation requests.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED; post-secondary education is a plus.
  • 6 months to 1 year of leadership experience managing teams, business operations, or the customer experience in the retail, hospitality, or food service industries.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with comfort in learning new technologies.
Work Availability:
  • This position is Wednesday to Sunday, based on a 40-hour work week, but sometimes will acquire overtime (paid 1.5x) during busy, holiday weeks.
  • Some shifts will be opening (8am-4pm) and some shifts will be closing (11am-7:30pm) depending on the needs of the business that week.
Bakery Hours:
  • Monday to Friday: 9am-7pm
  • Saturday: 10am-6pm
  • Sunday: 11am-3pm
Compensation:

$19.00 per hour
