Kaiser Permanente is in search of a MRI Technologist Level II to join our esteemed team.

Position Overview

This role involves operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to generate cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic evaluations. The MRI Technologist Level II will work under the guidance of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, exercising independent judgment and creativity to ensure the highest quality of patient care through safe and efficient practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient imaging studies in accordance with established protocols, ensuring the appropriate coil is positioned near the area of interest.
  • Utilize imaging equipment effectively to deliver quality diagnostic services, including programming scan sequences and adjusting imaging parameters.
  • Engage with patients to explain MRI procedures, addressing their concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Maintain safety for both patients and staff by enforcing safety protocols, managing hazardous materials, and monitoring patients during procedures.
  • Assist in training new hires and mentoring MRI Technologists and students.
  • Provide guidance and training to MRI Technologists I in MRI methodologies.
  • In the absence of the MRI Supervising Technologist, may oversee and instruct other MRI personnel.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.
Qualifications:Basic Requirements:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of continuous experience as a MRI Technologist, demonstrating proficiency in all responsibilities expected of a MRI Technologist II.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • California Radiologic Technologist Certificate.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (to be obtained within six months of hire).
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to train and mentor other Technologists.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MRI protocols and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to present information effectively in various settings.
  • Willingness to work within a Labor Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ARRT certification is preferred.
