At Meharry Medical College, we are seeking a highly skilled Administrative Coordinator to join our team. As an Administrative Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing office activities and workflow processes to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the department and division. You will perform administrative support duties and make work-related decisions in accordance with existing policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

Daily Operations

  • Assist in answering the phone, scheduling and coordinating meetings, interviews, events, and other tasks as needed; operate office machines, including photocopiers and computers.
  • Compose, format, and type correspondence using Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word; process department and division information using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Process division credit card reports.
  • Process division requisitions, contracts, and invoices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of institutional policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proficiency in various Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; strong composition and editing skills; excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including budgetary processes.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.

Required Education and Experience

  • An Associate or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of two years of related experience is required.
