Patient Access Coordinator

The Patient Access Representative plays a vital role in supporting the Saint Francis Health System by ensuring seamless patient registration and admissions processes. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Registers patients for scheduled and unscheduled services, including inpatient and outpatient procedures.
- Interviews patients and/or their representatives to obtain demographic and insurance information.
- Obtains necessary identification and insurance cards, and documents information in the registration system.
- Deploys legal and compliance consent forms and documents.
- Coordinates accurate patient data to determine financial obligations and collects insurance co-payments, deductible amounts, and patient balances.
- Follows all guidelines set forth in the Cash Handling policy.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Associates Degree in a healthcare-related field, preferred.
- Minimum 1-year related experience in the health insurance field or two years of hospital registration experience, preferred.
The Patient Access Representative works directly with patients and/or customers, as well as with internal and external healthcare professionals and staff.
