Senior EMI-EMC Engineer

Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior EMI-EMC Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our EMI-EMC team, you will provide technical leadership and expertise in the development of EMI-EMC requirements for our spacecraft and components.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement EMI-EMC requirements for Vast spacecraft and components
- Derive and distribute EMI and in-space environmental requirements
- Tailor industry standards for Vast spacecraft and missions
- Work with cross-functional teams to guide best practices for EMI-EMC design and test
- Perform analysis and measurement on avionics sub-circuits, components, and systems to enhance our understanding of EMI-EMC performance and risk
- Support EMI-EMC qualification testing of Vast spacecraft and components
- Contribute to a culture of extreme ownership by understanding and articulating the relationship between EMI and all subsystems and disciplines in human-rated spacecraft
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related STEM discipline
- 4+ years of experience working in EMI/EMC/Physics-related roles
- Preferred skills and experience include:
- Master's or PhD in electrical engineering, physics, or a related STEM discipline
- Experience in EMI/EMC, in-space charging for spacecraft, triboelectrification, grounding, and bonding
- Prior experience in electronics or electrical systems design roles
- Experience with software development and modeling in Matlab, Python, etc.
- Experience with digital communications standards such as Ethernet, RS-422, PCIe, GMII, etc.
- Experience with MIL-STD-461 compliance testing (procedures, facilities, equipment, etc.)
- Deep understanding of electromagnetics, plasma effects, and triboelectric effects on spacecraft systems
- Strong sense of accountability and integrity with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to teach people of various education and industry backgrounds about EMI-EMC
Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
