Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior EMI-EMC Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our EMI-EMC team, you will provide technical leadership and expertise in the development of EMI-EMC requirements for our spacecraft and components.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement EMI-EMC requirements for Vast spacecraft and components
  • Derive and distribute EMI and in-space environmental requirements
  • Tailor industry standards for Vast spacecraft and missions
  • Work with cross-functional teams to guide best practices for EMI-EMC design and test
  • Perform analysis and measurement on avionics sub-circuits, components, and systems to enhance our understanding of EMI-EMC performance and risk
  • Support EMI-EMC qualification testing of Vast spacecraft and components
  • Contribute to a culture of extreme ownership by understanding and articulating the relationship between EMI and all subsystems and disciplines in human-rated spacecraft
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related STEM discipline
  • 4+ years of experience working in EMI/EMC/Physics-related roles
  • Preferred skills and experience include:
    • Master's or PhD in electrical engineering, physics, or a related STEM discipline
    • Experience in EMI/EMC, in-space charging for spacecraft, triboelectrification, grounding, and bonding
    • Prior experience in electronics or electrical systems design roles
    • Experience with software development and modeling in Matlab, Python, etc.
    • Experience with digital communications standards such as Ethernet, RS-422, PCIe, GMII, etc.
    • Experience with MIL-STD-461 compliance testing (procedures, facilities, equipment, etc.)
    • Deep understanding of electromagnetics, plasma effects, and triboelectric effects on spacecraft systems
    • Strong sense of accountability and integrity with excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to teach people of various education and industry backgrounds about EMI-EMC
